Hopefully, I'm going to start posting back-art, and responding to *everything* soon.
If anybody cares, I a) am in Halifax for the week and b) have been developing dumb radical artdeas all night.
Look at it this way: Capitalism takes what is real, and commodifies it, alienates it, takes it out of context, and twists it. Through the processes of capitalism, the threatening and revolutionary is detoothed and harnessed. As revolutionaries, it seems to me as we ought to be acting antithetically - that is, taking that which has been commodified out of context, making it real, taking it out of its alienation, and making it threatening. For example, at the super bowl, Paul McCartney wore a red sweater with a black star - classic anarchist symbolism made harmless. But now, think of how we might abuse a photo of "harmless" Paul McCartney.
I'm going to go masturbate.
Love,
Brad
